1. About Clairemont Connects. Clairemont Connects is a free, community-run platform that helps neighbors in Clairemont, San Diego ask for and offer help. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

2. Eligibility. You must be 18 years or older to create an account or post. The platform is intended for residents of Clairemont and the surrounding San Diego neighborhoods.

3. We are a connection platform only. Clairemont Connects introduces neighbors to one another. We do not employ, screen, background-check, supervise, or endorse any user, and we are not a party to any arrangement you make with another user. Any help, service, or payment is strictly between the users involved.

4. Your responsibilities. You agree to provide accurate information, to only offer help you are genuinely able and qualified to give, and to behave lawfully and respectfully. You are responsible for your own safety — meet in public places for first meetings, and never share sensitive personal information publicly.

5. Payments. Any payment for help is arranged directly between users. Clairemont Connects does not process payments and is not responsible for any payment dispute.

6. Prohibited conduct. Don't post false, misleading, illegal, harassing, hateful, or commercial spam content; don't impersonate others; don't use the site to solicit for unrelated businesses; and don't collect other users' information for purposes outside the platform.

7. Content & moderation. You keep ownership of what you post but grant us permission to display it on the platform. We may remove any post, or suspend or ban any account, at our discretion — for example, for violating these Terms or for the safety of the community.

8. No warranties. The platform is provided "as is." We make no guarantee that you'll find a match, that any user is trustworthy or qualified, or that the site will be available or error-free.

9. Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clairemont Connects and its volunteers are not liable for any harm, loss, or damages arising from your use of the platform or your interactions with other users. You use the platform and meet other users at your own risk.

10. Changes. We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Clairemont Connects respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

1. Information you give us. When you sign up we collect your name, email address, neighborhood, age range, and ZIP code, and optionally a short bio, phone number, and profile picture. When you post a request or volunteer offer, or send a message or a Contact Us form, we store that content.

2. How we use it. We use your information to run the platform: to show your profile and posts to other neighbors, to deliver messages, to verify Clairemont residency, to send you account and notification emails, and to keep the community safe.

3. What other people see. Other signed-in users can see your first name and last initial, neighborhood, age range, bio, and your posts. Your email address, phone number, full name, and ZIP are not shown publicly.

4. What we share. We do not sell your information or share it with advertisers. Site administrators can view your information for moderation and support. We may disclose information if required by law.

5. Email. We send transactional emails (verification, password reset, new-message notifications, and replies to your Contact Us messages). You can turn off new-message notifications in your profile settings.

6. Cookies. We use a single sign-in cookie to keep you logged in. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Data retention. We keep your information while your account is active. You can edit your profile at any time, or ask us to delete your account via the Contact Us form.

8. Security. Passwords are stored hashed, and we take reasonable measures to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

9. Children. The platform is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from minors.

10. Changes. We may update this policy and will revise the date above when we do.
